Mrs. Cope has extensive experience in international economic development, serving since 2002 as the International Executive Service Corps (IESC) Vice President for Africa . Her regional responsibilities include Sub-Saharan Africa, having developed activities in 35 of the 48 countries. Additionally, she has directed IESC country-specific programs in Zambia , Zimbabwe , South Africa , Botswana , Swaziland and Lesotho . In these positions, she has been responsible for the design and implementation of innovative approaches for working with micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) as well as the development of trade facilitation programs between African and US firms based on the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). |

StepUpTravel.org is a web-based community that brings together tourism SMEs and helps them increase their internet visibility and traveler inquiries, build credibility through reviews and endorsements, develop ICT skills, and reduce dependency on intermediaries. StepUpTravel.org provides free internet marketing, ICT capacity building, and business development opportunities for tourism SMEs and community-based tourism initiatives around the world. StepUpTravel.org is also a responsible travel social network that brings together travelers, professionals, and academics to share travel experiences, meet like-minded people, endorse local SMEs, and collaborate on tourism development projects.

Trip Sweeney is co-founder of Step Up Travel. He met Scott Zimmerman while working in a public trauma hospital in Rio de Janeiro . They developed Step Up Travel in medical school and Step Up Travel, LLC was founded in January, 2006. Trip and Scott are currently on leave of absence from medical school working on Step Up Travel based in Washington , D.C.
Trip graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in Neuroscience in 2002. He is in the class of 2009 at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
