IIPT Partner ‘The Cultural Angle’ to Offer Seminars on IIPT Travel for Peace Campaign
The Cultural Angle is dedicated to working with individuals and organisations that represent the diverse sectors of the travel and tourism industry in offering interactive seminars and workshops for themselves and/or their clients to foster and encourage peace through travel and tourism. These seminars and workshops aim to provide travellers with new perspectives for interacting with people and the world around them in promoting an appreciation of the diversity of our global family and our common home, planet earth. The workshops and seminars foster both an inner and outer peace in the traveller’s pursuit of enjoyable and life enhancing travel experiences.
The Cultural Angle is based on Dr. Trauer’s belief that in this time of immense human migration and socio-cultural upheavals, travel and tourism is not only about the art of travel for one’s own enjoyment but also about creating benefits for others. She sees travel and tourism as a contributor to the art of living together and mutually rewarding connections and relationships, both while traveling and at home.
Recent trends reflect a greater desire for more purposeful engagements by travellers with their host communities as reflected in their selection of travel experiences driving the growth of special interest tourism; categories marketed under banners such as adventure tourism, cultural tourism, volunteer tourism, wellness tourism, cruise tourism, food and wine tourism to mention just a few.
With the above in mind, Dr. Trauer is now concentrating on sharing her insights gained from working in industry and academia directly with stakeholders in travel and tourism and directly with travellers as well.
The underpinning benefit of The Cultural Angle’s seminars and workshops rests in their ability to create new avenues for adding value to existing travel and tourism products and services. This in turn attracts and grows the target market of tourists and travellers wanting to travel with a purpose - to travel as an “Ambassador for Peace.”
For more information please visit www.theculturalangle.com or contact Dr. Birgit Trauer directly via birgit@theculturalangle.com.
Grateful for the opportunity to travel and experience the world and because peace begins with the individual, I affirm my personal responsibility and commitment to:

Cassie De Pecol on final leg of Global Journey after visiting 190 nations as IIPT Ambassador for Peace
Cassie DePecol is on course to set a Guinness world record by becoming the fastest person to visit all 196 countries of the world in less than 3 years and becoming the first woman and youngest person to do so. Cassie is currently on the final leg of her journey visiting all the world’s 196 sovereign nations as an IIPT Ambassador for Peace.
Prior to Expedition 196, between the ages of 21 and 23, Cassie saved $2,000 between lifeguarding and babysitting (in between studying), to travel to 25 countries on her own. It was during this time that Cassie learned to travel off the beaten path to 8 different countries, working at odd jobs to sustain herself. In Cassie’s own words: “I really took the time to immerse myself in the way of life of these countries while living as a local.”.
“But this Expedition has a completely different mission, a different core value, and there’s something to be said about achieving a major goal set fourth for both humanity and oneself. I choose to give myself, my all, on this Expedition, even if it means spending less time in some countries so that I have the funding to get to the next to speak to the students, plant trees, and collect water samples, then so be it. This is my life’s work.”
IIPT Founder and President, Louis D’Amore stated: We have been proud to have Cassie traveling the world as an IIPT Ambassador for Peace. Cassie is to be commended not only for her mental and physical endurance and fortitude in achieving this amazing feat of travel, but as well for her administrative and organizational skills in the detailed planning of her journey; obtaining visas; arranging her travel itinerary, schedules and meetings; seeking out sponsors to support and fund her amazing journey; and particularly for her commitment, passion and perseverance in achieving her mission to ‘make the world a better place.’” On completion of her Global Journey, Cassie plans on completing a documentary film and to continue giving motivational talks to University students.
